That’s why we use electronic cavity detectors in our practice. They use light to detect traces of decay that are invisible to the naked eye. We can catch decay sooner this way, making the treatment less invasive and costly. The smaller the cavity, the simpler the repair is.

 

Depending on the condition of your child’s teeth, we may recommend fluoride treatments or dental sealants as preventive measures. When fluoride is applied directly to the teeth, it will remineralize and strengthen the enamel, helping keep decay away.

 

Sealants are thin plastic coatings that we place on the biting surfaces of molars to form a protective shield against decay-causing bacteria. These two services work extremely well to help fight cavities in kids’ mouths.

 

After inspecting their teeth and gums, our dental hygienist will thoroughly clean and polish each of their teeth. They will make sure to pay special attention to those areas that your child might miss at home, in between teeth and around their back teeth. When your child leaves our office, they’ll have that “fresh-from-the-dentist feeling” that they can only get from a professional cleaning.

 

Finally, Dr. Isaacs will perform a complete inspection on their mouth. He will look carefully at any trouble spots noted by the hygienist and, if necessary, make recommendations for additional treatments.
